Broughty Ferry Community Council has now joined several groups including Dundee City Council to form a larger group that will look at the management of the beach.
In 2006 Broughty Ferry was delighted to receive a Blue Flag award as the Tay Waste Water Project means there is no longer sewage and household waste going into the Tay, making Broughty Ferry one of the cleanest beaches in Scotland.
Sadly this was lost in 2007 when high rainfall meant that too many samples did not meet the Blue Flag requirements. We hope that in 2008 this award can be achieved again.
